Holyrood Park Lodge, Edinburgh
United Kingdom

Historic Environment Scotland arranged for a half day seminar held at the recently refurbished Holyrood Park Lodge in Edinburgh. The delegates were all from a membership organisation, Scottish Land and Estates (SLE), whose members have care of many older rural properties. The measures installed in the Lodge were inspected and there were discussions on cost and disruption, common concerns in refurbishment. There was also a focus on remedial measures when addressing buildings that had been refurbished in an inappropriate way and discussion on the approach to take. The Refurbishment Case Study for this example can be downloaded from the HES website
